Why should people meet in person to complete the transaction?
Many scams are found on classified listings sites, be wary of any listing where they ask you to send money for the item or service. Always meet in person. Scammers usually ask you to send money in advance for an item which doesn't exist. If an item is not available to see but they ask you to send money and they will send the item to you, it is probably a scam. Use common sense and remember, if it seems to good to be true, it probably is!
Are all ads free to post?
All ads are free to post except in the 'Work' categories for job offers. Work ads costs $20 to post.
What is a featured ad?
A Featured ad is where an ad is placed on top of the list for your choice of 7 or 14 days. The cost is $7 for 7 days and $12 for 14 days. The ad will always stay in the top highlighted section for the duration of the feature.
I posted an ad, but it has not appeared.
For non-members, once an ad is posted, you will get a confirmation email containing a link to activate your ad. You must click on that link for your ad to appear. If you do not, your ad will not be posted. Keep this email because you can also delete your ad through that link! To prevent confirmation emails, sign up to become a member, it's free and allows you to post and delete ads from your login without the need of email confirmations!
I uploaded a photo but got an error 'Maximum File Size Exceeded'. What does that mean?
The photo you are trying to upload is greater than the maximum allowed size of 250Kb. You will need to reduce your picture in size. Try using a photo editing tool to reduce the size of your picture. If you are still having trouble, email your picture to us at help@hyway99.ca and we will re-size it for you and email it back to you within 48 hours.
Do I need to be a member to use this site?
No, you do not need to be a member - but it makes your life easier if you are! It's free to become a member. Members have more control over their ads from their login page. Also, all members ads can be linked so a user can see all your ads listed together in one place.
How can I get all my ads to be viewed/linked together?
This is a members feature, sign up first, then all your ads created under your username can be viewed together when a user clicks on the 'see all ads from this poster' link in your ad.
